Some people have asked me how I started my weight loss. My first few months in the blog archive explain it all.

Care to join me?

I was just at my sister Carrot Jello's site. She has bells and whistles, color and fun. I got nothin. So enjoy her as a treat from me. It's her blog birthday so pop in and wish her well.

HUGE PROBLEM - I got muffin tops. Christmas was hard on me... I am at my upper Echelon...I passed out when I looked at the scale so, if you are in the same boat here is what I am going to do about it.

This morning - 4 miles, walked 2 ran 2. I am experiencing double knee trouble but I am not going to be discouraged, walking is great, just takes longer, I got up earlier.

For Breakfast I got the brown rice out of the rice cooker and added milk cinnamon and sugar, deeelicious and it filled me up nicely. After breakfast I made my lunch along with my husband's and children. I made a beautiful chicken wrap on a spinach tortilla with corn, salsa, tomatoes, cabbage, black beans and brown rice, and a bit of sour cream. I just ate half, and am saving the second half for two hours from now.

I have a SERIOUS obstacle to face tonight and it is called Olive Garden gift certificates. We were given $150 to take the family out. It is my mothers birthday so it is party time, don't tell Carrot, she isn't invited;) I was always my mothers favoirte and I would like to keep it that way. I went online and planned out what I am going to order, picked the entree with the healthy sign and am determined to stick to the plan. I have already decided that the dessert (oh yes there will be dessert) I am going to order will be shared with my husband and 2 year old.

I, with countless zillions of women know how to lose weight. I have gained and lost the equivalent of a small nation in the past - so, onward and thinward... Let go you evil holiday pounds! I am not afraid of you...I'm ready! "if ye are prepared ye shall not fear." (D&C 38: 30 )

That picture kinda gives me the willies. So, are they just wearing their underwear? Not a coed gym, I hope.

I think preparation is definitely the key--not saying, "Oh, what should I have for lunch today?" and then a little nibble here and a little nibble there and before you know it--you eat a whole lot more than you thought.

thanks.

Enjoy your dinner (and dessert) at Olive Garden.

I love your planning. I'm quite sure I would just push the plan back using Olive Garden as the perfect excuse to wait just one more day. Good for you. I'm positive your holiday pounds will be off in no time.

Olive Garden...sigh...
That is something we do maybe once every two years, so I admire your strength. I would be all over the canneloni al forno, which I am sure is not a low fat dish.
And the breadsticks! Are you going to limit how many you are going to eat?
Still...olive garden food is all good, so I am sure you will enjoy whatever you get to eat.

Well, that's not what mom told ME in the station wagon.
I probably shouldn't be bringing a humongous cake over to mom's after y'all eat at Olive Garden without me, should I?

The holiday's are a great time to be pregnant! No guilt! I'll be crying about it come May but until then...

Lazy Organizer used to come to my blog.
Used to.
You have cute pajamas.
I saw no muffin top tonight.

Oh, and I would just like to say... the link you have to my blog?
It's got two "http"'s, therefore, it doesn't work.
Maybe you didn't want people to come to my site.
You're jealous, because I'm younger.
I don't have bells, or whistles on my blog.
Dancers? Yes.
But no bells, or whistles.
Not that anyone could go see whether or not I'm lying from the link you have there.
'Cause it's broken.

I love the picture! It's been about 16 degrees here in the morning and my walking partner and I have been forced to enter the gym for survival. See the gal in the back laying on the bench? That's what gyms do to me, they suck out my spirit. Why is that?

You clever girl, checking the menu like that! That's why you DESERVE to be thin, all that brain power!

I just made Set For Life's Oatmeal bran muffins for Breakfast. Yummers. How do you get your kids to eat brown rice?

I'm in. But of course it doesn't really matter today because I won't be able to eat much. I think I got strep throat from the kiddos.
You are awesome. Keep up the good work.

Monday...I start Monday. That's when Seminary starts back up so I have to be up-and-at-'em early again!

Did you enjoy Olive Garden?

Good luck! I'm starting a fitness challenge on a mommy board I'm on...it starts on Monday. I'll think of you pressing on if you'll think of me, we wouldn't want to disappoint each other, right? ;)

And what do you get at Olive Garden that doesn't kill the diet? Do tell, I love that place. :)

One of the things I enjoy about your blog is that it doesn't pull any punches. You don't promise any short-cuts to weight loss and overall improved health, and I like that. It takes discipline, hard work, and persistence even when you feel like giving up.

Although I'm already a grandmother and hence a bit older than you and your sister bloggeres, I can still identify with these types of situations. For ten years, I've participated in the Myrtle Beach Marathon, and for the past four years, I've settled for doing the half...which is what I'm doing this year too. Well, I've been dragging my feet (literally) about training for the event which takes place next month, and I've also gained about five extra pounds during the last six months or so.

No problem, or so I thought. I just decided to eat a little less and walk/jog a little longer. Yesterday, I walked over eight miles, watched my food and drink intake, and guess what? This morning I had gained a pound!

I'm sharing this because I can see how easy it would be to become discouraged, but we can't do that. After I post this, I'm going for a walk...another long one.
