"When and if you get a priesthood blessing to be free from excess fat and its potential ill effects - listen and feel for the promptings that will come from Heavenly Father as a result. They will be inspired promptings - not promptings to follow the incorrect precepts of man."
After suffering from arthritis, shortness of breath and having to walk with a cane, My dad in his fifties decided to get healthy. He exercised, changed his diet and lost a lot of weight. He looked like a changed man. He no longer needed a cane, he could ride a bike, walk, hike and had so much more energy. The impact on his friends and patients was huge. Each asked him how he did it, and wanted him to write a book. My mothers house if full of notebooks containing his ideas he was going to compile and turn into a book after retirement. Unfortunately he died 2 weeks after he retired from dentistry.
I am publishing a bit of his wisdom on this blog. I had no idea he shared my idea of getting a priesthood blessing for help with losing weight. My husband said "you are so much like your dad!"
Thanks Mel that is a great compliment.

What a precious blessing to find! From this post itt sounds to me that you are very much like your father. What an inspiring man!
Thank you for sharing this. He is sharing his wisdom with the world, through his daughter. I look forward to your posts every day.
Thank you for sharing this find with me (and the rest of everybody!). It is so important that we really know where our strength lies. You are absolutely right. Our Father does know best!
What a lovely and comforting thing for you to find. Kind of like a hug from your Dad...
That's amazing, both that you chose the same path and that you found his note later. I can imagine it was very special for you.
What a great little hidden treasure to find! I like that idea of leaving little hidden notes in my scriptures for people to find later. :) I hope you are able to finish the work that your dad started.
You should make a copy of that.
I have my seminary scriptures, which, occasionally, dad marked in.
Even though he didn't write anything, I love the fact that he marked in them.
I love your dad. :) Your entire family is so great. But your dad... wow. He's so inspiring.
And that, my friend, is why we should be a record keeping people.
We are so blessed to have the knowledge that Priesthood blessings can help us so much. That's so wonderful that you have those thoughts of your dads, and thanks for sharing them with the rest of us.
